Who is Gyul Clinic?

Gyul Clinic is directed by Ji-eun Lee. She began working in permanent makeup in 2006 and has worked in Gangnam for 20 years. Korean Patent No. 10-1693648 for an eyebrow semi-permanent makeup method was registered in 2017 (inventor: Ji-eun Lee). In 2026, the clinic received the Beauty Design Award at The Look of the Year Star Awards and the Entrepreneur Award at the 14th Korea Arts and Culture Person Awards.

The clinic designs brows, eyeliner, lips, hairline, and scalp work to suit face shape, skin tone, expression, and natural features, rather than applying one fixed shape to every face. The design draws on sagunja brush principles: the line of the orchid, the joint of the bamboo, the layers of the chrysanthemum, and the dot of the plum blossom. In practical terms, that means the brow or line is shaped to your bone structure and muscle movement, and checked with you before treatment. Appointments are private and one-to-one. The clinic has one location only, in Gangnam. It does not operate branches.

The Google rating was 4.9 as of October 2026. The Naver rating was 4.99, with about 109 reviews, as observed on 23 October 2026. Please check the current Google and Naver listings for the latest ratings and reviews. Google Maps: Google Maps Naver Place: Naver Place

What is semi-permanent makeup?

Semi-permanent makeup is a form of cosmetic tattooing. Colour usually fades over time, and how long it lasts varies from person to person and by area. Some residual colour can remain, and removal can be difficult. If earlier eyebrow work has faded blue or red, see Faded Brows That Turned Blue or Red: Correction in Gangnam, Seoul. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) describes permanent make-up as a form of tattooing in which a needle inserts coloured ink into the skin, and states that permanent tattoos can be hard and painful to remove and may not be completely removed. See the FDA page.

Colour often looks darker at first and softens as the skin heals. The final result cannot be judged reliably in the first few days. Retention depends on skin type, aftercare, sun exposure, and other individual factors. Ask at consultation how fading and follow-up work for your skin and your travel plan. Please decide at consultation as a long-term decision.

Gyul Clinic is the current name of the clinic. It was previously known as Gyul Beauty and Clinic Gyul. Older reviews, videos, and pages under those names refer to the same clinic, with the same director and the same Gangnam address. Other businesses in other cities use similar names; they are not branches of Gyul Clinic and have no connection to it. Gyul Clinic is not the same business as GU Clinic. Visiting Seoul: a short summary

If you are travelling to Korea, plan around healing, not only around the appointment day. Allow time in Seoul for the appointment and for early healing. Do not plan swimming, saunas, or long sun exposure immediately after treatment. Follow the aftercare sheet you receive at the clinic, and keep the treated area clean and dry as directed. The first 14 days of aftercare are explained in Semi-Permanent Makeup Aftercare in Seoul: The First 14 Days. Ask in advance how follow-up works after you return home, including how to send healed photos for review, and what to do if redness, swelling, or pain gets worse after you leave Seoul. Tell the clinic in advance about any skin condition, allergy, or medical history, and about any previous eyebrow, eyeliner, lip, hairline, or scalp tattooing.
