Planning a Semi-Permanent Makeup Visit to Seoul: Gyul Clinic, Gangnam

Planning semi-permanent makeup in Seoul is a travel plan as well as a beauty plan. At Gyul Clinic in Gangnam, the appointment itself is only part of the visit. You also need time in Seoul for early healing, a clear plan for aftercare, and a way to follow up after you return home. This guide covers what to do before you travel to Korea and what to do after you arrive in Seoul. Final design, colour, and suitability are decided at consultation, and results vary from person to person.

Before you travel to Korea

Start with the questions that change the plan. Ask how healing works for the service you want, how follow-up and photo review work after you return home, and what to do if redness, swelling, or pain gets worse after you leave Seoul. Ask what information the clinic needs before you book, including previous tattooing, allergies, skin conditions, and medicines. Previous eyebrow, eyeliner, lip, hairline, or scalp tattooing may need a separate consultation before treatment can be planned, so do not leave this until the day of the appointment.

For booking steps and language support, confirm directly with the clinic before you travel. Use the booking links at the end of this post. Keep a record of the address, phone number, date, and service you agreed.

Plan your Seoul days around healing. Colour often looks darker at first and softens as the skin heals, and the final result cannot be judged reliably in the first few days. Do not schedule swimming, saunas, long sun exposure, or heavy exercise immediately after treatment. If your trip includes a beach, pool, or long outdoor days, put the appointment early enough in the trip that early healing is finished before those plans, or move those plans to before the appointment. Ask the clinic about your own itinerary before you book, rather than assuming one free day is enough.

Pack for aftercare. Bring gentle cleanser, sun protection, and any aftercare items the clinic tells you to use. Do not bring strong exfoliants, retinoids, or new active skincare to use on the treated area without asking at consultation. If you have a history of cold sores and want lip work, tell the clinic in advance. If you have a skin condition, allergy, or medical history that may affect treatment, tell the clinic in advance as well.

After you arrive in Seoul

Confirm availability and hours before you visit. The clinic is near Sinnonhyeon Station, Exit 5, on the 8th floor of the Chunglim Building at 468 Gangnam-daero. Allow time to find the building and arrive without rushing. Appointments are private and one-to-one.

Bring a list of what you want, photos of results you like and results you do not like, and information about previous tattooing, allergies, medicines, and skin treatments. Your artist will check your face and skin in person, draw the design, and check colour with you before treatment. A design that suits another person may not suit your face, so check the drawn design in a mirror at normal distance and say if anything looks too strong, too long, or too dark. This check is the last easy time to change the design.

After treatment, follow the aftercare sheet you receive at the clinic. Keep the treated area clean and dry as directed, do not pick or scratch flakes, and avoid saunas, swimming, and long sun exposure in the early healing period. Keep the aftercare sheet and the clinic phone number with you for the rest of your stay. If redness, swelling, pain, or fever gets worse, seek local medical care promptly and contact the clinic. Do not wait until you are home to ask about worsening symptoms.

How many days should I allow in Seoul?

There is no single number of days that suits every person and every service. The right answer depends on the service, your skin, your healing, and your travel plans. Ask the clinic about your own dates before you book, and do not book a flight home on the assumption that healing will be finished by a fixed day. As a planning rule, allow more time than you think you need, keep the days after treatment free of water, heat, and strong sun, and keep a way to send healed photos for review after you return home.

If you are already in Seoul and want treatment before you leave, ask the same questions first: suitability, healing, aftercare, and follow-up after you leave. A short stay does not remove the need for early healing care. If the clinic advises against treatment on your dates, follow that advice.

What to ask before you book: checklist

Use this checklist in your own words when you contact the clinic.

  • What service suits my face and skin, and what will the design check involve?
  • What should I tell the clinic about previous tattooing, allergies, and medicines?
  • How does healing look day by day for this service, and what aftercare must I follow?
  • How does follow-up work after I return home, including healed photo review?
  • What should I do if symptoms get worse after I leave Seoul?
  • What are the booking steps and language support for my case?
